Kids need help making our procedures into their routines. I print and laminate these simply worded checklists, and if a child is off-task, I silently draw their attention to the card. Anything that saves my time — and sanity!! — during these high-energy times of day is a win!

My college professor made the point above about procedures becoming routines. Just because WE say it’s our “classroom routine” doesn’t make it so. Kids need practice, encouragement, and our patience. Even if it takes till May.

And yep, I don’t have any “morning work,” just a soft start by reading a book of choice.

Grab these fully editable checklists, print on sturdy card stock, and laminate for durability so kids can use dry erase markers to check off each item!
